I think you wanted the bass to take up a lot of space which it does, but I think just some kind of percussive element or sound effect would take it's place better. Many people preach about how stereo bass is bad for the soul, maybe try to switch it to mono to bleed out the drone with other layered gimmicks. Beyond that, I feel like this can use a lead instrument or at least rhythmic chords.
